Darwin Ignite has four plans, chosen in Profile > Subscriptions, each including everything in the one below. Free suits an individual starting out: 1 simultaneous user, up to 1,000 processes, 10,000 documents or 1 GB, free upload of 100 processes from official institutes, watches and publications in 1 jurisdiction with simple alerts, 5 editable email templates and a simple AI dashboard. Core is for practices that need core management: 5 users, 5,000 processes, 250,000 documents or 500 GB, 200 document signatures a month, 250 free uploads, 3 jurisdictions with detailed alerts, internet domain watch, unlimited email templates and the advanced dashboard. Prime adds advanced tools: 20 users, unlimited processes, 50 million documents or 10 TB, 2,000 signatures a month, 1,000 free uploads, 5 jurisdictions with automatic updating of case files, and classification of incoming email with a private model. Corporate gives full capability: unlimited users and processes, a dedicated server with 20 TB, 5,000 signatures a month, 5,000 free uploads and 10 jurisdictions. All plans include life cycles for trade marks and patents in every jurisdiction. Plans can be paid monthly or yearly. Prices change, so see Subscriptions, where the Features Matrix compares the plans, or contact the sales team.
Four plans that grow with your practice
Every Darwin Ignite plan includes everything in the plan below it. Each plan also includes life cycles for trade marks and patents in every jurisdiction, AI classification of incoming email, and the same single Darwin Suite sign-in. What changes between plans is scale and capability: how many people work at the same time, how many cases and documents you hold, how many jurisdictions Ignite watches for you, and how far automation goes.
Most practices start on Free to load part of their portfolio from official data and try the workflow. Free also opens the Darwin online IP services shop, where trade mark searches, applications, renewals, changes of address and copyright filings can be ordered and paid for online. They move to Core when the team grows beyond one person. Prime is the most popular plan for established firms: unlimited documents, 10 TB of storage, five watched jurisdictions with automatic updating of case files, and a private language model for incoming post. Corporate removes the limits on users and cases and runs on a dedicated server.

Prices are per month and are the same in every country. You can also pay in GBP, USD, AUD, BRL, CAD, CHF, HKD, JPY, NOK or SEK at checkout. Paying yearly saves the equivalent of two months. Taxes are added where applicable. Plans can be upgraded, downgraded or switched between monthly and yearly billing at any time by an Admin, in Profile > Subscriptions.
Credits and digital signatures, explained
Silver credits come with your plan as an allowance and are always used first. Gold credits are bought once, never expire, and are only used when no Silver credits remain, so your account keeps working when the allowance runs out. Credits pay for services charged by use: importing cases from official institutes beyond the free loads in your plan, searches and screenings carried out through Darwin GSE, and expert analyses authenticated by a person. Credits belong to the account and are shared by every Darwin Suite system it uses.
Digital signatures certify documents, reports and analyses so that recipients can be sure nothing has changed since they were issued. Core, Prime and Corporate include 200, 2,000 and 5,000 free signatures a month. Further signatures are bought in packs and never expire.

Plans, billing and credits: your questions
Which Darwin Ignite plans are available?
How do I change my plan, and when does the change take effect?
An Admin changes the plan in Profile > Subscriptions, where each plan shows its features and a Subscribe button, and the Features Matrix compares them. Before you confirm, the screen explains exactly what will happen. When you move to a higher plan, it starts at once: the difference for the rest of the current period is charged pro rata, using the remaining credit of your previous subscription, and the new plan renews on the date shown. When you move to a lower plan, your account keeps the features of the current plan until the end of the period already paid, and then changes to the new plan, which is charged from then on. Only one change can be pending at a time: if a change has already been requested, it must take effect before another can be made, and the message tells you who requested it and when. New features reach your session the next time you sign in, so sign out and in again after an upgrade. Before moving down, check that your account fits the lower plan's limits, such as the number of users, processes, documents and watched jurisdictions. For a Corporate plan or a tailored arrangement, contact the sales team.
Yes. Every paid Darwin Ignite plan can be paid either monthly or yearly, and you choose the cycle in Profile > Subscriptions, where the Monthly Billing and Yearly Billing views show the plans for each. Paying yearly saves the equivalent of two months compared with paying monthly over the same twelve months, so it suits practices that know they will use the plan for the whole year, while monthly payment keeps you flexible while you are getting started or expect your needs to change. If you are already subscribed, Switch to Yearly or Switch to Monthly changes the cycle, and the screen tells you when the new cycle starts and when it renews before you confirm. Payment is taken with the method set in Profile > Billing, a card, PayPal or your current account, and only Admins can change the subscription or the billing details. The Free plan has no charge in either cycle. Digital Signatures and Gold credits are not part of the cycle: they are bought once, as needed, and never expire. For current prices, see Subscriptions or contact the sales team, as prices are reviewed from time to time.
What are Silver and Gold credits?
Credits pay for services that are charged by use rather than included outright in your plan. Silver credits come with your plan, as an allowance that depends on the system and plan you subscribe to, and are always used first. Gold credits are bought by an Admin in Profile > Billing with Purchase Credits, are billed once, never expire, and are used only when no Silver credits are available, so they keep your account working without interruption when the allowance runs out. Typical uses are importing processes from official institutes beyond the free uploads included in your plan, searches and analyses carried out through Darwin GSE, such as screenings and viability searches, and expert-authenticated analyses performed by a person, which are paid in Gold credits. Your current balance of Silver and Gold credits is shown under Balance in the user menu. Credits belong to the account, not to the user, and are shared by every Darwin Suite system the account uses. Credits are separate from Digital Signatures, which are bought and counted on their own. For the cost of credits, see Purchase Credits in Billing or contact the sales team.
Which payment methods can I use?
Payment methods are managed by an Admin in Profile > Billing, under Payment Details. You can register payment cards with the card holder, number, expiry date and CVC, keep several of them, set one as the default, edit or delete a card, and see when one has expired. You can also pay with PayPal and make it your default payment method instead of a card. Accounts that have one can use a Current Account, which shows every movement with its date, item, debit, credit, balance, payment method and invoice, so you can open each document; a credit limit may apply. Billing also shows the account's Cash Account and Credits Account, and lets you add funds, with any bonus offered on the funding options. The same Billing panel is where Gold credits and Digital Signatures are bought. Make sure your company's location and tax number are correct in Company Account, as they can affect tax on your invoices. If a payment is rejected or stopped, a message says so; try another method or contact support. Billing is shared by every Darwin Suite system the account uses.
What are Digital Signatures, and how do I buy them?
Digital Signatures are units your account uses to certify documents, reports or analyses with a digital signature, so recipients can be confident that what they received has not been tampered with since it was issued, even when they are able to edit PDFs. Each certification uses one signature, and only when you ask for it. Core, Prime and Corporate plans include a monthly allowance of free signatures, 200, 2,000 and 5,000 respectively; the Free plan includes none. When you need more, an Admin buys them in Profile > Billing with Purchase Signatures: choose the quantity, review the transaction and pay with your default method, and the signatures are added to the account straight away. Purchased signatures are billed once and never expire. Today you use them by ticking Digitally Certified when requesting a report. Digital signing of the PDF letters produced by OIL is not yet available, so signatures cannot be used there for now. Signatures are separate from Silver and Gold credits and are shared by every Darwin Suite system the account uses. For prices, see Purchase Signatures in Billing or contact the sales team.
